Ok…I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows, I hate Windows!!!!
What else can I say? I hate Windows!!!!!
I had a whole blog typed out and of course because I had to close Firefox, I lost everything I had typed……..
So now I have to start again………….
As you might know our house is on the market and has been since Beginning May. We are now in July and we have only had 3 or 4 people looking at the place. This will show you how bad the market is.
Last week Monday, a couple who had been to other houses, then came to see ours and liked it. There was one tiny little problem, we didn’t have a ROUND bath. I mean why must it be a ROUND bath? Why not SQUARE, or RECTANGULAR or a CORNER bath??? I subsequently found out that this is where the couple communicates…in the ROUND bath. Can they not communicate in a SQUARE bath or a CORNER bath?? Or how about over dinner at the dinner table? Strange….LOL
Then on Wednesday, we had a gentleman come over. He and his wife came from Cape Town 1 year ago. On their day of arrival, with the car heavy laden with goods that could not fit in the truck and smaller items, like jewellery, etc, they were hijacked on the highway. What a warm welcome to Johannesburg!! They were bumped from behind….naturally they pulled over and got out the car to see the damage only to have to stare 3 hijackers in the eyes. They got out of that one alive but without their possessions and their car. Their car was found by the next day, in peak condition but empty of their other possessions….amazing
The guy came to see the house in the morning and fell in love with it because of the pub and the fact that we had the same oak dining room and oak bedroom furniture, so I think he could see what his furniture would look like in the house. I told him he had good taste…… He wanted to bring his wife later in the afternoon to see the place, which he did. They decided they wanted to buy…..whooohooo!!!%
Papers were signed on Friday. His wife who was in Cape Town still had to sign. Well I received a call this morning that it seems things are not going smoothly as they wanted to. They were under the impression that they would be able to withdraw from their pension. Their broker had led them to believe they could do this. Now that they need it, they were told they cannot touch it. Amazing, your money and you cannot touch it….how sick is that? The result is that they are now forced to rent a house that will never be theirs. I felt like this news was somewhat a reprieve.
Oh well, we will wait until tomorrow and see what other solution they can come up with….maybe 100% bond which they are not keen on. We will wait and see.
When the agent told me the place is sold, all sorts of emotions came over me. I was happy that the house had been sold….sad that it had been sold….somewhat panicked because we had to be out by the 15th August. All the things I had to do, flashed before my eyes…would I cope? I had to…I had no option. I had all day after all to do what needed to be done.
I pulled out a CD I purchased last year called Property Power. On this CD is a list of things to do Prior to Moving, Relocating as well as other topics like BUILDING A NEW HOME and FINANCIAL PLANNING and INFORMATION FOR THE SELLER and INFORMATION FOR BOTH THE SELLER AND BUYER and INFORMATION FOR THE BUYER as well as other interesting things, all to do with Property.
The list called MOVING CHECK LIST is awesome!! When I saw this list, I could breathe again…I had some guide to follow. It gives you a breakdown of what to do 6-8 weeks before the move, then 4-5 weeks before the move etc until D-Day!
